Sword (all about swords)
A sword is a weapon, that is its fundamental design of a blade and a handle. The blade is generally an area of metal at least one of the sharp edges often has a pointed end for pushing. The handle, called the handle can be made of many materials, but the most common material is wood and leather upholstery, fish skin or metal wiring. Parts of a sword are very consistent between cultures. The basic intention of the sword and the physics is fairly constant.
This type of weapon has been used since the Bronze Age, when the construction of long metal blades was possible for the first time. The first swords were made of bronze or copper solid, which were hard, but very fragile. It was not until the iron could be established was the sword truly become an important weapon. Soon I learned blacksmiths with an adequate amount of coal (in particular carbon in coal) in the iron, a metal (alloy of truth) could be produced: steel.
Several different ways of swordmaking existed in antiquity. One of the most prestigious is the welding pattern. Over time, new methods have been developed around the world.
In pre-Columbian South American and Mesoamerican cultures made use of several types of swords without developing metallurgy, for example with obsidian swords "Teeth" mounted along the edges "of a wood blade."
Having seen the use for about five millennia, swords began to lose its military uses of the late 18th century due to the increasing availability and reliability of gunpowder weapons. The swords are still used, though increasingly limited officials and ceremonial uniforms. cavalry saber still occurred until the Second World War during which Japan and Pacific Islanders also occasionally used swords.
There are hundreds of types of swords. Here are the most famous:
* Tweezers - European and sword duel, optimized to push more than a slashing action

There is a tool that resembles a sword and is called a machete (or, in southern Africa, a panga) and is used to cut through thick vegetation. In fact, the difference between a machete and a sword is primarily the use, and various types of swords in history seem a machete in construction, such as the Seax, the dusack, and the sword.
While classification can not be rigid, the latter usually referred to as a kind of sword cutting. The Seax, usually lack a rail or any type of guard, is more Knife properly considered a war.
Parts of the sword
* Blade - the cutting of a sword is the blade. In the single-edged swords, editing is not cut-back. The blade can also have slots or scrubbers. The purpose of these fullers not act as channels for blood (as intended), but to lighten the blade while allowing it to retain its strength.
* Hilt - the handle of a sword, and consists of the guard, grip, and pommel. You can also have a tassel or sword knot.
* Pod - the pod is if the sword is kept when not in use.
* Ricasso - The short section of the road between the base of the guard and grip. The ricasso is not sharp, allowing a finger to be wrapped around the guard for better control. On some large weapons, such as Zweihänder German the ricasso was covered with leather and can be gripped with one hand to make the weapon more manageable in close combat.
* Shoulder - The short section of the road between the handle and the start of the knife edge of the blade. The manufacturer of the brand is normally found in the shoulder.
* Tang - the part of the blade that extends from the top of the blade through the handle and grip. The sword is often held together by a nut screwed onto the stem above the handle.
* The CoP (center percussion) AKA Sweet Spot - the part of the blade that can deliver the strongest blow with the slightest vibration.
